So last weekend my brother, Jakob and I went to go see Star Trek. I wasn't too thrilled to go see it because from the clips I could find, it just didn't appeal to me. Also, I have an issue with "prequel" movies: they look more 'futuristic' than the originals. And yes, this movie did just that. It looked more futuristic than the original Star Trek series. I did like the fact that Checkov, Scotty, and Sulu both had the right accents and closely resembled the original actors and their mannerisms. The guy they got to play Kirk didn't have the "Shatner Drawl" or the "Kirk Drawl" as I've heard it said; "to. . . boldly go where. . . no man. . . .has gone. . . before" with all the breaking of speech. I did enjoy seeing Leonard Nimoy again. There were some funny parts in the movie and that is what made it enjoyable. And the fact that they put the original music and the "saying" at the end of the movie instead of the beginning and had Nimoy say it was a semi-classy move.
Anyway, I was really excited to see the trailer at the beginning of the movie for this, and the little cameo at the end of the trailer:
Darth Vader and Oscar the Grouch in the same movie! Yay!

Yeah, they showed this preview at X-Men Origins: Wolverine, too. It does look really good!
Yay! That movie looks so good. yay for Darth and Oscar!
Honey, it's Nimoy. Not Nimroy.
Eh, oops. I type too fast for my own good at times.
