Picture update!

Okay, I finally was able to grab some pictures and stuff off my camera! Some of this stuff is from last year, so bear with me for a while while I sort things out. And again, sorry for the crappiness of the pictures. When it is outside, it tends to handle a bit better. I need a new point-and-shoot camera. Any suggestions?

LDS Commercial Shoot at the Castle Theatre, Oct 2008
Hubby and a few of our friends did a commercial back in October. If you look through my postings for earlier this year you'll find the commercial. It is the swashbuckling adventure one. Here are some of the pictures that I took on the day that I was on set. Also, here's the video of the stunt that went kind of wrong.

Here are the boys. Jakob and Adam in their full on costumes. These costumes were reused from the flop movie "Cutthroat Island". I don't think they are well taken care of because a lot of the trim was coming apart and a few of the buttons are missing or they were falling off. The lining was always ripping away from the main suiting material. They were always a strange color reddish-purpleish I couldn't put my finger on. But the boys didn't seem to mind.

Jakob turned right as I was taking this picture. I can't believe that they made him wear a wig! He already had long hair, I guess they just wanted it longer.

Closer shot of Adam.

Exterior side shot. They were in the middle of shooting a stair stunt when I arrived.

Jakob, Adam, and a couple of the other actors. They were taking a break while they waited for the stunt to be set up. I think Jakob and Adam were itching to do the stunt, but in this picture, I think Adam was trying to say something to me and I just clicked the camera at the wrong point.

Nice front exterior shot while they were setting up for the stunt.

Here is the video of the stunt. They ended up using a little bit of it if you watch the actual commercial, but from a underside angle. After watching this video you can see why they wouldn't use the angle I shot it from. Can you see where the stunt went wrong?

Mira's surprise B-day gift Oct 2008
So we had decided to surprise Mira with a poster on her birthday, but we had received the wrong information from her parents as to when she would be home and what apartment she was in, so we decided to decorate the poster in the little grassy area outside her apartment complex . . . in the dark. Yeah, will probably not do that again.

So we found this picnic table and moved it a bit closer to the little flood light they had on the side the building so we could see better. The flash on my camera really lit up the area for a minute.

So Andrea, Dustin, and Court all started decorating it and writing backwards and frontwards and upsidedownwards. Then Andrea has the bright idea to write in yellow. Well, when you are writing in yellow on white paper in the dark, you can't see what you've written too well, so we ended up using our cell phones as flashlights for a while.

We weren't too sure when Mira would be back, so Jakob went over to the corner and started being our lookout. Well . . . he was the one wearing the camo jacket.

He took a quick break to come sign the poster while Court was the lookout. We started hearing a lot of voices, so we really started to sign and finish it off.

Then Court finished it off.

And wouldn't you know it, my camera died right then so I couldn't get any pictures of when we handed the poster to her and her roommates met up for the first time. The look of confusion on their faces when they saw the poster and saw how crazy we were, it was priceless. Also, the look on Mira's face when we handed the crazy poster to her, it was like she was expecting us to do something like that.

Masquerade Jan 2009
Okay, I said I would put some pictures up from the Masquerade that I went to earlier this year. I'm not a fan of these pictures, but here's just a few. The Christine gown I'm wearing is not complete. In fact, you can't see it in the pictures but the backend of the dress, the whole bustle piece is being held together by pins.

Some friends, the Hubby, and I went to a Masquerade Ball earlier this year. It was actually kind of fun just to sit to the side and watch. We danced a bit, but they really didn't have any music you could dance to. It was more like a high school dance atmosphere than anything. There was a DJ that didn't really play anything from the Masquerade time period. He did play a waltz and Jakob and I tried to waltz, but my dress just wasn't finished enough for me to do that comfortably. But we did get a lot of stares. We were one of the 2 small groups or couples that actually dressed up in costumes instead of just grabbing a prom-style dress.

We were thinking of trying to have Jakob have his sword with him, but we weren't too sure whether or not it would be permitted since we were at the Historic Courthouse. Some guy there did have a tinfoil sword, but after the party was done, Jakob was happy that he didn't bring it because it would have just got in the way.

Steve as the Red Phantom. He and I got a few stares and even some pictures taken of us. We were leaning over the railing looking down and there were a few cameras pointed up in our direction. We hammed it up for them a bit, but I just happened to snap this picture of him in the "dark corners" as Jakob called it.

Picture of me at home. I wasn't too happy with my mask, that is why you don't see it on me. Also, I'm not a bit fan of Pink, but the gown is actually really pretty in person. This picture doesn't do it justice. Once it is finished I'll take better pictures of it and I am going to put it up for sale.
