There are times that I HATE living in this valley. Winter is one of them. We get inversion and this year, it's pretty bad. And every year after it starts getting bad, I get a respiratory infection. Yeah, not fun what so ever. This past weekend is when it hit for me. I'd been feeling crummy for a while and it just decided to "explode" this weekend. Yeah, not fun and not exactly the weekend I had planned. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the whole "stay-in-bed-watching-movies" thing, but we just had things planned.
But getting sick every year because of the air is beginning to get to me. I can count on getting sick sometime between December and February because of it. Doesn't matter if I take care of myself like nothing other, I get sick. And my doctor knows it. He actually waits for the call from me about beginning to have respiratory distress. This year I decided to try and work with it in a more holistic approach. Teas and natural foods to make it lessen the blow. And maybe it is working. I haven't had to take OTC meds--except for today because I had to go to work--and I'm liking that.
This may be the one and only time I wish this but we need a snowstorm or a big windstorm to help stir up the air and get this gunk out--at least for a little while. This is just the pattern that the valley is in.

My sympathies to you Melissa. I hate the inversion. I know it is hard on all of us with allergies and I always worry about Court's asthma. Hang in there!
I'm so sorry to hear this. I have other friends who suffer from this too and it sucks. I hate that Utah is literally one of the worst places to live for air quality in the winter.
