Why you don't want to mess with your Costume Designer

Recently I had someone tell me that I "wasn't worth [my] salt" as a costume designer. And that a costume designer isn't needed on most film shoots. Yeah, that went over well.

Let me tell you why a costume designer/wardrobe personnel are some of the people you ALWAYS want on your film shoot: We help YOU create YOUR vision on screen. Actors would be nothing without the costumes that they wear. I have been on film shoots before that when Actors finally put on their costumes, you see them change right in front of you. They finally have a purpose or some idea of how their character is going to move and act.

arg. . . . . . . .angry. Not going to type anything else before I say something I shouldn't.
