Yep, you'd better believe it. A guy in NY started this, not necessarily as a weight loss or fitness thing but that's what it has turned out to be, and people are beginning to pick up on it.
I've seen Jakob and Steve when they are really going at it and practicing. It is a really good workout. I can see why some people are going toward it. It takes something that they are comfortable with and isn't in a gym setting. It lets you take yourself out of the equation by creating a different character, and you act and perform through them. When I've seen Jakob and Matt go at it on stage or during practice, even though they are using swords, it is the same concept.
It also seems a bit like the Tai Chi form that uses swords. You get the resistance of having some weight along with a purpose behind that resistance.
