Masks

Part of making the props is I get to make the masks for the ball scene and of course I pulled Court into all of it. Anything artistic and animal related and I pull Court into it. I'm excited to see where this is all going to go.

So yesterday, Court and I made our way up to a shop in SLC that sells a bunch of different masquerade masks to use a bases and I asked Court to make a few sketches of the masks. Once we got to the shop, the sketches changed completely. I think it helped both Court and I to see what we could use as bases and change around to what we want them to look like. These are going to look so cool once they are done.

Each of the masks are going to look like animals, but the artistic kind of animal. What I did was ask each of the actors to give me an animal that they thought would work with their character and then Court and I are taking it from there. If everything comes off the way we want them to, when the audience sees the masks they should be able to figure out which animal they are but still have a fun look to them. I see lots of feathers, glue, fabric, and hilarity coming in the next couple weeks. I have until the end of August to get these masks done and I think with Court's help I can get something else knocked off my list!
