Enjoying my time

I haven't completely dived into the props stuff yet, but the dances are all done for The 3 Musketeers. Granted I think like a dancer and they aren't exactly time period correct, but I like them and it seems like the cast likes them too, so they are staying.

I started looking around for all the prop stuff and I'm seeing a few things that'll work, but on Saturday I'll be able to take a deeper look into things because the cast is heading to one of the local high schools to look at the costumes and I'll be able to look at the props she has and see what I can borrow for the show. Things are coming together.

However, I'm not looking forward to August 18th. I'm required to be back at the school that day, but I'm not paid for it. Yep, the joys of being staff instead of faculty. We're still required to be there but don't get paid for it. They also want me there in the evening for "Meet Your Teachers" night but I can use the excuse of rehearsal to get me out of it. What I'm hoping for is another job will come up before then and I can start recouping the summer costs of not having a job. But that is another post in itself.

But I'm spending most of my days sending job applications, playing with beads for necklaces/earrings, and fabrics flowers and accessories and looking around my fabric bins for other stuff.

They require you to be there, but you don't get paid? What is wrong with the school system? :(
