Film Job . . . . . . . plus how sore I am

I married an actor. Yes, it was my choice, but somethings get really ironic. Okay, take for example my latest job. Many know that I prefer to be behind the camera more than in front of it.

I haven't been to an audition for myself in many many moons. In fact, I the last time I auditioned for anything film or theater wise was high school or just after it. So while I was checking up on auditions for my hubby, my friend sent me a notice about a movie that he thought would be fun for me to do. I took a look at it and said "okay, why not?" and I sent the lady my information. I wasn't able to make it to the auditions and they were dance auditions so I thought I wasn't going to get anything because she didn't see me dance. All I said was that I was on the folk dance team and since they were doing Traditional India style dancing, I could send her a clip of what I have been trained to do. I sent her the e-mail and a picture of me. The next day I got a reply saying that they would love to have me in the film and the dance rehearsal schedule was attached. I about jumped out of my seat. I got hired and they didn't even see me dance? Well, they could still say that I wasn't what they were looking for when I go to the first rehearsal, but hey fake it till you make it, right?

That leads me to how sore I am. I haven't really danced intensively since fall semester when I was TAing a clogging class, so I decided to start working out again and getting my dancing shoes out of the closet. After just a few months of not dancing and throwing myself back into workout mode, my body says "enough!" rather quickly. I haven't been this sore since I was training with the folk dance team every day and here I am just training every other day and I get up in the morning sore. Ugg, I'm getting old. But it feels good to be back moving again. I haven't dared put on my clogging shoes; I'm actually a little nervous to hear what I sound like. Luckily the film doesn't have clogging in it.

I'll keep everyone updated as to what is going on with the film. I think it should be fun. . . . plus I get to wear a sari! You can always have fun in costumes.
