So winter has hit. And all the glory that comes with it.
~I'm sick. And have been sick since Dec 14th. It hasn't gone away. Kind of sad when I miss the last few days of school before winter break because my immune system couldn't keep whatever germs my students decided to give me. Still sick. Coughing (I wish you could get an ab workout with coughing; I'd have a six pack so far), my lower back still hurts, all the loveliness of whatever it is I have. To make matters worse, when I went to the doctor, even he had no idea what it is.
~My car decided to go bonkers yet again. After I thought it was fixed, the same problem plus a bit more started happening. Coolant spilling everywhere when you stop and turn the car off, plus steaming. Hoses changed. Spilling stopped for a while but the steam kept going. Kind of unnerving when you're driving and steam is coming from under your hood. So the car has been in the shop since the 22nd because "of the age of the car, we have to custom order the part". My car is from '95. It really isn't that old, but apparently it is in car years. In the past year I've spent a large amount keeping this vehicle running. So that means I may have to get a newer vehicle soon. Yeah, not too happy especially after I found out how little my vehicle is actually worth with a trade in.
~It's snowing. Yes, snowing. Multiple days of snowing. 2 feet at least in my yard since the 24th. Poor Jakob has been shoveling the snow every day when he gets home from work. I tried it one afternoon and ended up sliding down the stairs. Yeah, not doing that again.
I guess the one good side to all this is I got to spend a lot of time in the house. I haven't really gotten anything done, but it's been nice to just sit and veg.

Dang, that is a lot of snow. Stay warm and safe and try to feel better! Easy to say... harder to do. I can give you this tip. Don't try that homemade cough syrup going around pinterest. Seriously, the foulest thing I ever put in my mouth - and I've eaten chicken feet and fried caterpillars.
I have NOT enjoyed the snow. Ugh, ugh. And I'm so sorry to hear your car has been on the fritz again. Adam has a good recipe he uses for coughs and sore throats if you'd like us to make you some. Let us know!
