Traditions

Yeah, I'm not one for traditions, but I'm beginning to get used to them.  Something that my mother has done since we were little (and more now since Jakob and I were married) has been to give us a basket of food for New Years.  I actually look forward to that.  We get some treats during Christmas (Oreos for me and Goldfish for Jakob) and then a basket and food to "start the new year off right" as my mother puts it.

Cheese, pasta, pickles, marinated olives, pasta sauce, and sparkling cider.  Plus a really pretty brown basket (which doesn't show up too well in the picture).

Another "tradition" we have is during BYU home basketball games that if it is an earlier game, we go have some food afterwards.  Usually it is something fast foodish, and so we went to Panda Express (which was packed!) but apparently the boys had decided it before hand they were going to use their Christmas gifts from me.

Yep, I gave the boys Lightsaber Chopsticks.  Jakob's is Luke's from Return of the Jedi, and Michael's is Darth Maul's from The Phantom Menace.  The only problem with them is that they are "slippery", as the boys put it.  They're going to rough up the eating end so they can grab the food easier, but they like them and I'm happy that I could find them.

I love those chopsticks, hehe! Now I want Panda! I love traditions. We definitely have a lot in our household. Mostly odd ones. :)
